What Do Women Look for in a Man in 2018
When it comes to an understanding?of what women want, many of us men are confused. It’s been the topic of conversation for decades with everything from Mel Gibson trying to read women’s minds in ‘What Women Want’ to books like ‘Men are from Mars and women are from Venus.’
The truth of the matter is, many of us are unsure as to what to give women. We may think they want money, good looks and attention but in reality, we are getting it wrong.
You’re not alone in this either. The agony that so many of us go through when it comes to dating can be enough to commit us to a psychiatric hospital.
But for the sake of your mental health, and to make 2018 a better year for you and everyone around you, this article will give you the inside scoop on what women are really looking for in a man.
As men, we often run into these mental barriers. We think we can’t have the women that we really want because we don’t have enough money or power. We may accept that we are only supposed to have a certain type of women, and these other women are out of our reach because of our current position.
When we look at the truth, good looks and money are going to get you only one thing, attention.?But what about after you’ve gotten that attention?
Think of it like some glitzy fancy advertisement, it might get your attention, but it doesn’t mean that you’re actually going to buy the product. The media is partly to blame with?pictures of men with six-pack abs being posted everywhere; we’re told that’s what women want.
But the truth is when you try to win over a woman with money by taking her out for a?big fancy date, often she can get the impression that you are just trying to buy her affection. I personally believe that there is something subconscious that when you buy somebody something they are in a position of greater importance than you. This, in turn, devalues you, as a potential prospect.
When you use your money to try and win over a woman, you can give your date the impression you’re trying to manipulate her and worse, they often will see this as a lack of confidence. Unfortunately guys, both of these are huge attraction killers.
Let’s look at some of the real things that women value, which you can’t put a price on, in 2018.
This comes down to respect. If you say you’re going to call, just call them. If you can’t call them, then let them know. Easy, honest and totally achievable.
Yet so many men leave women guessing and feeling let down from not following through with things they promised they’d do. When you don’t call after promising, it makes you look flakey at best or simply shows you don’t care.
Women have made it clear time and time again, how much they hate guys that are flakes. Women love a guy who can make a plan and stick to it. If you’re the kind of dude that has a phobia about commitment, including making plans ahead of time, then women will constantly question if you can make any type of commitment at all.
When you’re on a date, don’t forget that conversation isn’t a one-way street. Show your date that you’re interested! There is nothing that sends a date to sleep more than just talking about yourself.
Ask questions, listen to the answers, bring back points that were discussed 15 minutes earlier and ask further questions about it. These little subtle hints show your date that you are listening to her, processing the information and actually remembering them.
What that tells women is that you’re interested in them, and that’s really important.
Let’s be honest, dating in the 1920’s was probably not as exciting or wild as dates could be in 2018, but one thing that gentleman did have was chivalry. What is chivalry? Chivalry actual refers back to the ‘olden times’ when knights and noblemen followed a set of values like loyalty and honor.
Now I’m not saying you have to put on a set of armor but good manners and things like offering a lady a seat first, opening a door for her or throwing a protective arm over her as she crosses the street are all great things that most women typically love.
Leadership is sexy, and nothing will attract a girl more than you taking the lead. I’ve seen many women who love it when men take the lead, but you don’t need to be overbearing or bullish.
During the dating phase, this can be a nice touch though. Don’t do the whole, ‘what do you want to do? I don’t mind, what do you want to do?’ That’s just plain boring.
Say to your date, let’s try out this place. Tell her you’d like to order food for the both of them and surprise her (just make sure she doesn’t have any allergies). These little acts of taking the initiative can feel exciting and different to other dates they’ve been on.
Stand out from the crowd and be different.
Confidence is king. Even if you don’t have any confidence, fake it till you make it. The truth is that everyone, men, and women can have a hard time when it comes to dating.
You have two choices, either turn up with a total lack of confidence and doubt every action you take or rock up, own that shit, be confident that you’re making the right decisions and actions and mentally reassure and back yourself. You’ve got this!
You don’t have to be something your not to be confident. Just having confidence in how you are as a person is enough. Being comfortable in your own skin is a truly attractive quality to possess.
And lastly, remember always that being honest with women is the best approach. Sometimes it’ll happen where you just aren’t that into each other.
If a date doesn’t go well, or if you’ve been on a couple and you aren’t feeling it, don’t leave a girl in the dark and disappear. Ghosting isn’t cool, let her know your honest thoughts and feelings.
Sometimes we can bring things to light that the other person can learn from. Also sometimes the honesty can actually refresh and build on what may have been a poor date, to bring out a completely different side of each other that wasn’t visible before.
With all these tips under your belt, it’s clear that women want a lot more than just a guy with hard abs and a fat wallet in 2018. Relationships and dating have never been more difficult with the popularity of online dating.
By building personal bonds that bring out the best of yourself, you’ll be able to build a truly meaningful connection that can make all the difference in your everyday life.
