The new dating app for Brexit opponents

If you wanted Britain to remain in the EU, there’s a dating app for you

not using dating apps

With tensions running high over the country’s recent vote to withdraw from the European Union, residents of Great Britain who were among the 48 percent to vote to stay in the European Union can now commiserate with others through a new dating app. Here are a few things to know about yet another derivative of Tinder:

1. It’s a way to find like-minded individuals

According to this article in the Evening Standard:

Dating app Remainder was created by “two ordinary voters who wanted to cheer everyone up after a dismal day”, the website says.

Billing itself as the “dating and social app for the 48 per cent”, Remainder is an exclusive platform for those who want to meet new people, but also want to make sure they don’t unwittingly end up on the date from hell with someone who voted to Leave.

Since it went live, thousands of people have already signed up to the service, keen to vent their frustrations over a drink or two.

2. ‘Facebook feeds … turned into a neverending funeral service’

According to this article in Metro:

‘Our Facebook feeds had turned into a neverending funeral service. We thought the best way of recovering must be to go out for a few drinks with someone who’s in the same boat.’

Though the app is still in its early days, just imagine finding that special someone you could mourn Brexit with.

3. We’ll see if it has any staying power

According to this article in AskMen:

Remainder appears to be still in its development stage, which kind of defeats the purpose of being invented as a response to the Brexit vote. But hey, the bureaucratic process of actually leaving the U.K. will probably take years (potentially further than the 2018 deadline), so that should give these developers a bit of time.

People will really invent absolutely any Tinder-like dating app these days won’t they?
