5 Reasons to Work Off Your Unwanted Stomach Fat

We’re exceptionally good at finding reasons not to work out. We tell ourselves that our bulging belly isn’t that much of a threat, or that we can’t afford to pay for a gym membership every month. In fact, if we put as much effort into staying in shape as we did into avoiding it, then we’d probably be a nation of fitness fanatics.

You would not see every 6th person in America who is overweight or obese that is for sure.

It’s about time that we recognize just how dangerous the extra weight around our stomach can be. If you’ve been spending your free time pinching your fat but doing very little about it, you might simply need some motivation to help you get up on your feet. The following are some of the most important reasons why it’s crucial not to allow yourself to simply stay overweight.

This is your health, and your life we’re talking about – after all!

1. Your Fat Suffocates You While You Sleep

Plenty of men (and women) snore, but most have no idea that the majority of their grunting is caused by extra weight hanging onto their midsection. When you have too much fat clogging up your body, you end up clogging your airway, and preventing oxygen from properly circulating around the bloodstream.

Usually, it’s extra soft tissue around the throat that causes this problem, but there has been evidence from recent studies that suggest additional abdominal fat could link with sleep apnea. In other words, if you want a better night’s sleep, then you need to start ditching the extra pounds.

If you think fat is unattractive, combine that with snoring and you have a very worrisome combination. No one wants to think about that!

2. Your Stomach Makes You Sick

Excess belly blubber has a significant impact on the cytokines in your body. These cytokines are the chemicals responsible for telling your immune system when something is wrong with your body. If you’re weighed down by additional visceral fat, then you reduce your chances of informing your body that it’s struggling with problems.

Instead, your cytokines may become vulnerable to insulin, and other chemicals which prevent them from doing their job. Put simply, abdominal fat doesn’t just increase your risk of diabetes and heart disease ? it also affects your entire immune system. Those donuts and potato chips are your enemy! Bananas and salad are your ally.

In other words, for a WWII reference, for Americans, eating candy bars and pizza all the time is like siding with the Germans and you are making it much worse for your body, the American forces, to win the war. You can win this war though much easier and for sure if you eat healthier and this is where greens and fruits come into the picture. If you do not understand this, repeat high school history and/or watch the movie Fury multiple times while on an elliptical machine or treadmill, for example.

No one is perfect but at least help out your body a little.

3. Fat can Cause Diabetes

Today, most people are aware of the link that exists between obesity and diabetes. However, they don’t know how crucial visceral fat is as an early warning signs. The type of fat that you store around your waist is generally linked to insulin balance.

Over an extended period of time, the body secretes insulin when eating irregularly or stressed, and this leads to additional fat building around the area. Getting rid of extra belly fat could mean that you stay healthy and chronic-illness free for a longer period of time. This means you are generally healthier and happier throughout your life.

4. It’s Hard to Tell When the Problem’s Gone too Far

Best

Most people today struggle to tell the difference between a little extra holiday weight that they’ve piled on during the winter months, and a waistline that can be medically defined as dangerous.

While you might be able to notice your beer belly when it starts to get out of hand, there is such a thing as skinny fat, wherein guys with an absence of visible muscles store layers of fat around the midsection that aren’t as immediately obvious as a bigger belly. You could be storing huge amounts of fat around your stomach that you simply don’t notice as a result of lower muscle ratios, and a skinnier frame.

5. Fighting Fat is Hard Work

Perhaps the most important reason to devote yourself to a constant routine of fighting back against stomach fat, is that visceral fat is difficult to prevent, and even harder to fight back against as you get older. When we age, or bodies struggle more with fighting off unwanted calories, and many of the sugars that we are exposed to which do the most damage are actually hidden away behind complicated names.

If you start fighting back against fat as early as possible, you should be able to educate yourself on some of the dangerous terms you should be looking out for. For example, maltodextrin ? another word for sugar, can be found in everything from chicken breasts, to sliced meat. Read up on the food you eat, and workout regularly to maintain a better weight, a better lifestyle, and of course ? better health.
