3 types of women to avoid on Tinder

Don’t get played; screen your matches for these red flags

You never know who’s on the other end of that profile when you scroll through the potential matches in your feed. Here are a few types of women you should probably avoid if you ever encounter them on Tinder or any other dating app:

1. Instagram hustler

Plenty of women (and men) have gained large followings on Instagram, and/or other forms of social media, posting fitness- and modeling-related pictures. When dating apps started becoming popular, many of those women started using their Tinders, Bumbles, OkCupids, etc., to promote their Instagram accounts.

Sometimes they’ll post links to their accounts in their profiles, sometimes they’ll tell you that they want you to follow them on Instagram so they “know you’re real.” Then, once you do follow them, they suddenly stop messaging back. She was only interested in turning you into a fan. Be skeptical when they ask for the follow on Instagram.

2. Overly negative

You’ve most likely seen a number of bios that look something like this:

No players, no fuckboys, no scrubs, nobody who lives with his parents, and on and on with everything they don’t want in a match.

It’s like Willie Nelson once said: “Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results.” So no need to burden yourself with matches who want to dwell only on the negative. It’s easy to avoid what you don’t want; it’s a lot harder to qualify the things you do want.

3. Duck face

It’s generally best to avoid women who display any signs of immaturity in their photos, including the duck face. Other potential warning signs include women who are dressed as if they’re going to a rave in their photos, ones who use too many emojis in their bios (especially if the number of emojis outnumber the number of words in their bios) and women who have nothing but selfies for photos.
