Better Health by Cutting Sugar for Just 10 Days
Sugar is bad, but it’s in almost everything we eat these days. Walk down the supermarket aisle, and you’re bound to see hundreds of products that, while tasty and appealing, are filled with that health-rotting compound.
With sugar permeating throughout our lives it’s become increasingly difficult to say no and ignore it. Even those that can muster the willpower to try often slip-up every now and again. With all this out in the open, what effect does cutting it out of our diets for just 10 days have? The Huffington Post have the answer:
The study didn’t change the kids’ diet to a kale, hemp seed and quinoa retreat, but rather just replaced foods with lots of added sugars with other processed foods such turkey hot dogs, pizza and baked potato chips, that have little or no added sugar, and instead contain carbs in the form of starches.
Just 10 days later there were significant metabolic improvements: Glucose tolerance, blood lipids and other markers of liver health changed for the better.
We could go on to say that eating hot dogs and pizza is not exactly the face of a good diet, but to know that it can actually improve health if you use it to replace sugar is quite startling. Check out the full post for all the details.
