5 Vacation Destinations She’ll Love
Taking a vacation together is a significant step in a relationship. Going away will allow you to see how well you and your girl coordinate, communicate, and organize. If you?re not living together, it may be the first time you will spend long hours alone with each other. Can you keep conversation interesting and each other entertained? Will you feel relaxed being with just her? These are a couple of the many questions that vacationing together will answer.
It is a great event, so you should make your choice bold and interesting. Avoid destinations that have become clich? as getaways for lovers. Forget Paris, Fiji, and Jamaica. You should choose somewhere that is beautiful, little known, or unconventional as a vacation spot.
Here are 5 destinations she?ll love:
1. Rome
If you are determined to go to Europe, you should visit The Eternal City. Rome is the most beautiful city in the world. A walk through Rome is like a stroll through the history of Western Civilization. It retains the architecture it had in the 15th century, when the last great building projects occurred. Sculptures from some of the finest artists in history dot the city. And you will of course be able to take in The Colosseum, The Pantheon, The Roman Forum, St. Peter?s Basilica, The Sistine Chapel, as well as the many old churches, galleries, and museums throughout the city. In August, the heat is unbearable, and it is also the peak time for holiday-makers from other parts of Europe. The best time to go is before July?before it becomes overly congested and far less enjoyable.
2. Amsterdam
Holland?s largest city is also a choice spot for a European vacation. Amsterdam is one of the places to go if you like to chill. In fact, every time I go, I feel immediately relaxed. It?s not a top tourist destination, so you don?t have to worry about a lot of overcrowded restaurants and noisy fellow foreigners. You will find mostly locals at the restaurants and pubs. It?s also a great city for lounges, which are usually outfitted with sofas and other comfortable chairs. You will not feel the least bit pressured to buy drinks or hurried to leave when you?ve finished them. The Dutch have a pretty care-free attitude when it comes to such matters. A must see is the Rijksmuseum, which houses the best of Rembrandt, including his famous The Night Watch. Avoid the Van Gogh museum. It is overpriced, and you will see plenty of that artist’s works at the Rijksmuseum.
3. Phuket
One of the best kept secrets of Thailand, Phuket is much smaller than the better known Pattaya, but also cleaner, cheaper, and fresher looking. The sand and water in Phuket is something to see: white sand and clear, greenish blue water. Phuket has the look of a beach paradise that has been largely untouched. No noise or racket of any kind. It remains relatively uncrowded all year round. All you will hear is the sound of ocean waves crashing onto the shore. It is a place where you can swim and sit out in the sun for hours. The restaurants and night life are also excellent. ?And you should not leave Thailand without trying the native cuisine. However, you should be careful with the Pad Thai. Get the mild, not the hot. Trust me.
4. Singapore
Singapore is mostly known for being one of the economic engines of the Pacific. However, it is also quite a lovely city in which to vacation. Singapore is one degree north of the equator, making its weather conditions pretty much the same all year round: hot and sultry, with a mid-afternoon rain shower of short duration. The clamminess is no barrier to enjoying the city. In downtown Singapore, you will find a number of outdoor bars that specialize in cool alcoholic drinks. You will also find some of the best shopping in Asia on Orchard Street. When the sun goes down you should head to the quays: Boat Quay and Clarke Quay. There you will find great pubs and nightclubs and first-class restaurants in which to wine and dine your girl.
5. Curacao
If you want to stay closer to home, then you should think about Curacao. This little Caribbean paradise is located just off the coast of South America. ?You will find the traditional set-up of island resorts?diving, beach bars, etc.?but not the overabundance of tourists. There are also a number of undeveloped beaches on Curacao which are perfect for long strolls in the sunset.
