Learn Why Subway Is Just As Unhealthy As McDonalds!
You are in a rush and need to get some quick, preferably healthy food. It is common knowledge that McDonald’s, Burger King, Jack In The Box, etc. are really unhealthy. ?Fortunately there is a healthy, quick alternative called Subway. Right?
Subway is healthy, right?
The truth may shock you and leave you disappointed.
Although Subway’s constant slogans of “Eat Fresh” portray a healthy food option to consumers, this is unfortunately very far from the truth.
A couple of years ago, I decided to take a quick peak at the ingredient list of Subway foods.
We will start with the bread. There are reports that Subway is in the process of changing up their ingredients due to large protests. Until then, however, Subway’s bread is far from fresh.
It contains upwards of 50 ingredients, and can most likely survive the apocalypse. So, if the world slowly comes to an end, Subway is the place to go.
Its bread includes refined flour, conditioners, refined sugar, MSG, artificial colors, harmful preservatives and a very controversial ingredient titled azodicarbinamide.
By the way, bread should really only have a few ingredients. There should be flour, yeast, salt, water, and possibly a sweetener.
Azodicarbinamide is banned in Europe and Australia.?This chemical’s primary use is in the production of plastics. However, due to its ability to improve the elasticity of bread, it is used as a food additive in the U.S.
Azodicarbinamide has been linked to asthma and worsening of other food allergies.
Many of the?meats?also contain nitrates, which are linked to increase heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. And Subway has double the amount of nitrates necessary to cause problems.
The meat of Subway also contains MSG and carrageenan. According to Cornucopia institute, carrageenan turns into a carcinogen once consumed.
So we have covered meat and bread. Surely the vegetables have to be pretty healthy. Unfortunately, like the bread and meat, the vegetables are also not too healthy.
To begin with, all the vegetables are packaged. They are not fresh. One example is the avocado, which is opened up from a can each day.
This is the ingredient list found in the banana peppers (for the record, I never knew that vegetables had ingredient lists… normally a banana pepper would simply be banana peppers and maybe some salt): banana peppers, water, distilled vinegar, calcium chloride, sodium benzoate, sodium metabisulfite, yellow #5, natural flavors, polysorbate 80.
That is crazy for vegetables to have that many ingredients. Polysorbate 80, yellow #5, sodium metabisulfite, and sodium benzoate are also known carcinogens.
These vegetables are designed to last months to years in storage.
Yellow #5 is added to prevent discoloration of the banana peppers. Unfortunately, it is a neurotoxin that is linked to behavioral issues.
Polysorbate 80 has been linked to DNA alteration, cancer, and reproductive system damage.
Sodium benzoate is a preservative that acts as a mutagen that turns off parts of DNA, resulting in allergies, I.Q. reduction, and A.D.D. symptoms.
There is a reason the vegetables at Subway always look really fresh, never showing even the slightest discoloration. Fresh vegetables do not stay fresh forever and will not look perfect.
Even the “chicken” at subway contains quite a few ingredients, including genetically modified soy.
The list can go on and on about how false Subway’s claims of “Eat Fresh” really are, but I will stop it here with this simple word of advice:
If health is important to you, it is best advised to remove all fast food, including Subway, from your diet. They are not healthy, and it is a stretch to call the food at these places “real.” These fast food chains contain what I like to call food-like substances, that slightly resembles food.
The best way to eat healthy is to buy your ingredients from a local market or grocery store, and make it yourself.
Consume more vegetables, fruits, nuts, legumes, whole grains, and lean meats, and you have got yourself a healthy diet!
Do girls leave you confused as to whether or not they like you?
Let's face it. Girl's don't make it easy for you. She will often send mixed signals leaving you unable to tell if she is being friendly or flirty. If you read her signals wrong you risk rejection and embarrassment. Or worse, you blow it with a girl who wanted to kiss you.
Here is a simple and innocent move that will instantly tell you if you're in the friend zone, or if she's waiting for you to kiss her.
