5 Reasons Why You Should Be Doing Yoga
For years, many professional athletes have been using yoga to prolong their careers. But it also has other amazing advantages that anyone can benefit from such as improved mental focus, a reduced amount of harmful toxins in the body and maybe even boost your sexual performance.
Now that I’ve got your attention with that last point, we cross head over to Daily Cup Of Yoga, which has five awesome reasons of why everyone should be doing yoga. Here?s a short extract:
Yoga helps us pay attention.
Many people notice that they are more physically, mentally and emotionally self-aware. Often, this self-awareness begins by paying attention to our breath and all its habits. Then, we move to our thought cycles, and finally, to where we hold tension in our bodies.Yoga heals our bodies and minds.
The poses, conscious breathing and visualization serve as therapy to reduce physical pain as well as emotional anxiety. I have found this to be true in my own recovery from a traumatic brain injury. We learn practical methods of self-comfort. And through active effort, we advance our practice into one of self-love and self-acceptance.Yoga breaks our bad habits.
With yoga, we learn new, healthy patterns that override harmful habits. Through yoga, we learn discipline and commitment to our own health. Letting go of the unhealthy habits allows us to see the possibilities more clearly.
What are you waiting for? Get yourself over to the article and check it out for yourself. You don?t need any special equipment ? just a few feet of space and a mat. Try to do around 15 minutes of yoga a day and you?ll soon be reaping the benefits.
