Stop Complaining and Start Taking Action

I hate cold weather. I don?t care for Indian food. Oh, and ladies wearing Hello Kitty sweatsuits slowly buying ten lottery tickets in front of me when I?m just trying to pay for my gas and Funions drives me batshit crazy. But you know what? I?m not going to let it ruin my day (well, at least not another day.)

Oh, calm down

Complaining is annoying. Complaining about your lot in life, however, is a confidence killer. Hey, I don?t necessarily enjoy the fact that my dad passed on his bald genes to me, but I got a damn Bic and take care of it, ya know what I mean? I didn?t like wearing ?Husky? size shirts in middle school, but I started running ditched the jelly rolls.

Complaining is nothing more than focusing on problems rather than solutions. It?s giving in to negativity and choosing to be a victim rather than an empowered person.

We all complain. No matter how many yachts we own or how many happy pills we?ve consumed, we?re going to eventually complain about something. Whether it?s getting cut off in traffic or finding out you?ve just been fired from your job at Wendy?s, complaining is an everyday part of life.

What we do with this energy reveals what type of person we are. Let?s take losing a job for instance. With the way the economy?s been in recent years, there?s a good chance you?re familiar with this crappy situation. A victim loses his job and does nothing but complain. He doesn?t actually do anything to change his situation. A proactive person, however, will work to find a solution. He might complain from the get-go, but he?ll get off his ass and start sending out resumes, making calls, protesting greedy Wall Street assholes, etc.

Think about something you complain about on a regular basis? Are you unhappy with your weight? Do you think your job sucks and your boss is a bastard? Tired of dating a girl who sleeps with all of your friends? Whatever you dislike about your life, complaining isn?t going to change anything. You complaining about your job at Wendy?s isn?t going to get you closer to the position of Apple CEO. If anything, complaining will only make your situation worse. You?ll not only be working at Wendy?s for the next 20 years, but be the bitchy dude that everybody hates and throws chicken nuggets at.

Now that you?ve thought about something you dislike about yourself, make efforts to change. Think of possible solutions. Spending less time whining and complaining, you?ll actually be of sound mind and able to actually take positive steps in your life.

At this moment, I?m not too thrilled with my car or lack of a golden toilet. Am I just going to sit in my room and complain? Hell no. I?m going to think long and hard and take action. The Hello Kitty crowd, however, might have to deal with my bitching.
