Must-Read: Aging Gracefully
Just this past year, we turned the big 3-0. And while part of us was kind of dreading it — mostly because that’s what various personalities on TV shows and movies have done since time immemorial — it actually turned out to be awesome. We love aging and becoming more manly and more adult-like. Ever since we were kids, that’s all we wanted to be. And now it’s finally here.
But there’s no doubt a lot of you out there who aren’t so keen on the whole prospect of aging. To that, well, there’s one piece of advice: Get over it. It’s not something you can really stop, no matter how much dye you put in your hair or how many botox treatments you get. But also: It’s not really all that bad. You just have to look at it all from a different perspective. So today we’re taking you to AskMen.com,where one of the authors there has a great article about how to turn 30 gracefully, without all of the nonsense associated with it. Here, for instance, is the author’s main suggestion for how to get past that 30 year old marker without acting like a goddamn idiot:
My main suggestion on how to age gracefully: Smile and say “bring it on.” The glass is half full — chug that bitch. There are positives to aging, I swear. First off (and this is one that I?m personally pretty stoked about), guys get better looking with age. Girls, get ready to get hotter guys. Guys, get ready to be hotter guys. It?s true. Fifteen years ago I looked like a more awkward Screech; now I?m borderline handsome. I bet dollars to doughnuts that George Clooney gets more ass now than he did when he was on The Facts of Life.
