Top Five Movies of Leslie Mann
Have you ever craved a comedy no matter what? A compulsion so strong that you might try anything just to let that laugh stuck deep down in your gut a chance to bellow forth? You may look at the Google listings of all the movies in your area, comb the ?Comedy? section of Netflix instant or even in a moment of desperation consider finding a Redbox for your fix. Then again, you could just look at your shelf of DVDs and Blu-rays and pick out a movie from Leslie Mann.
Yes, it is a big assumption that you have one of Leslie?s movies on your shelf, but it?s not that big of one. I mean I might be a bit more prescient if I said Bill Murray, Jim Carrey or Woody Allen, but after poking around Leslie?s flimography, I see quite a few movies that probably made it into your online shopping cart at one time or another. Picking five just comes down to my taste in comedies, though I think any argument you made over these five would have to be very strong. Because though comedy is subjective, my subjective on Leslie happens to be right.
I laughed a lot in this movie. However, thinking back, it might tell you a little about me that the things I remember are the facts that Seth Rogen and his business partners worked on a website devoted to celebrity nudity and the location of the night club just down the street on Las Palmas in Hollywood.
I like to think of the male leads in this movie as the stars of ?Dumb and Dumber? and ?The Ghost Writer? rather than Ace Ventura and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
When I think of this movie, the memories that come to mind are ?Asians? and Porno Password. That?s what happens when you haven?t seen a movie for at least ten years. Of course, that doesn?t explain my memory of ?Knocked Up.? Darn brain.
Whenever I look at a movie listing in January and groan to myself thinking, ?Where, oh where have the good movies in January gone,? and think that January has always been like this, I think back to this movie and its January release and wonder why every year can?t be a little more like 2002, at least in this small way.
This may be the best and funniest comedy of the last ten years. If you have another one that you?d nominate, I?d love to hear how it could rank above this Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Seth Rogen and Leslie acted masterpiece. (Then again, I?m really just? repeating myself.)
