Working out is not fun or easy. There’s a reason that, right there in the title, the word “work” is there prominent and sticking out. We stick on iPods attached to earbuds, or give us distances to go after, or try to make some kind of personal goal with time in order to push ourselves. It’s all about tricking ourselves into working out a little harder. Sometimes you have to make small performance goals (run this mile in 20 less seconds) or give yourself some incentives (if you finish this in the 20 less seconds you tried to, then you get to watch a movie of your choice that night; if not, then it’s the girlfriend’s choice). These tricks are important in order to make your workouts effective and worthwhile.
