Mad Men’s Jon Hamm to Star in Baseball Drama

From ad man to agent. Jon Hamm, best known for his role as advertising executive Don Draper on AMC?s ?Mad Men,? is signed on to star in Disney?s upcoming sports movie ?The Million Dollar Arm.?

He does everything!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hamm is set to star in a film detailing the life of sports agent J.B. Bernstein.

?The Million Dollar Arm? was actually the name of a reality TV contest created by Bernstein to find the individual in India who could throw the most accurate and fastest baseball. The film tells the story of the show?s creation and Bernstein?s discovery of two teenaged cricket players (content winner Rinku Singh and runner-up Dinesh Kumar Patel.) Bernstein signed and trained the two to play for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Hamm has appeared in several films, but ?The Million Dollar Arm? is one of his most high-profile roles to date. The ?Mad Men? actor had small roles in ?The A-Team,? ?The Town? and ?The Day the Earth Stood Still.? More recently he has held larger roles in films like ?Bridesmaids? and ?Friends With Kids.

Hamm?s lack of major starring film roles up until now certainly has nothing to do with his acting chops. He won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series in 2008.
