How to Beat the Summer Beer Belly

Summer is the season of great indulgence. Between the barbecues at the beach, sporting events, summer music festivals, and boat rides, it?s easy to lose track of what we consume. We can drink more beer than we thought was humanly possible and eat three burgers or corndogs without exhaling between mouthfuls. If your summer eating habits are catching up with you and beginning to show, you can reverse the effects before you start scaring all of the women at the beach when you take off your shirt.

1.)? Avoid the Fatty Meats

Borat knows the importance

Burgers, wings, and steak are all barbecue favorites. But these meats are high in fat content and calories. If you want to thoroughly enjoy your barbeque and not have to sacrifice flavor for health, try eating grilled lean meats. This can include chicken breast, turkey burgers or pork. Try removing the excess skin and fat before throwing that hunk of flesh on the grille. And remember, naked is better. Try to avoid dowsing your food in BBQ sauce, mustard, or any other type of thick condiment.

2.)? Embrace Whole Wheat

You may enjoy the look of those snow white buns, but bread made from refined white flour contains a large portion of high GI (glycemic index) carbs. You may not know it, but these carbohydrates cause sugar to be quickly released into the bloodstream. This spike in blood sugar levels triggers a rapid lease of the insulin hormone. This hormone is secreted from the pancreas and people with high levels often suffer from diabetes.

Try opting for whole wheat buns instead. And also try to avoid consuming large helpings of soda, chips, and full flavored beers.

3.)? Drink in Moderations

Beer can be your best friend or your worst enemy. During the summer, you?re probably going to be drinking a lot of it. Beer is high in calories and can go right to your waste. Other negative effects of beer include high blood pressure, short term memory loss, and liver failure. Try to drink only two beers when you go out and avoid binge drinking at all costs. If you do end up sloshed beyond all believe, make sure you give your liver adequate time to recover.

4.)? Exercise

When it feels like the Sahara in your backyard, the last thing on your mind is hitting the gym. But if you want to maintain that girlish figure of yours, you?re going to have to get some cardio in your life. This doesn?t mean that you have to run five miles a day, but try staying in motion for at least 30 minutes each day. Park your car in the furthest corner of the lot. Take the stairs. Play fetch with Fluffy. Have lots of sex. Just be sure to stay in motion.

You can maintain your health and appearance and still have fun during the summer. Just be sure to abide by these four tips, and you can still go to your best pal?s summer cook-off.
