Must-Read: Outdoor Workouts
If you haven’t looked at the calendar recently, then at the very least you’ve noticed that the weather is getting warmer. And when the weather gets warmer, you know that it means that the summer is calling. And that means one thing: Heading out to the beach.
The only problem with that plan is that some beach outings at the start of the season don’t really show you in your perfect light. Which is to say, you may have put on a few extra pounds during those winter months. Which is why you need to make sure that you’re in good shape before getting in that swimsuit and trying to make some “new friends” in their own swimsuits.
And so today we’re heading to Men’s Fitness where they have a list of 10 outdoor workouts that you need to partake in if you want any chance of being ready to head out to the best come this summer. Among the workouts that they are getting us is this perfect little doohickey of a workout:
The Hill Sprint Workout
?Hill sprints are an example of HIIT and provide a powerful metabolic workout that burns a significant number of calories in a relatively short amount of time,? says Tom Holland, M.S., C.S.C.S., C.I.S.S.N. and designer of this routine. ?Hills can also be considered functional strength training since our bodyweight battles gravity, strengthening our entire body in the process. Finally, doing hill sprints helps improve running technique, speed and endurance.”
