How to Wear Nude
The current trend for nude is not referring to your birthday suit. It?s a color! The lightest shade of brown has become a huge trend of late. Versatile and stylish, there?s no reason not to go nude this season.
Usually, colors or patterns which become a trend are best worn on your top half with a pair of dark jeans. Not so for nude, which actually looks its best on a pair of slacks. Always wear a brown leather belt with nude pants, as black is far too harsh for such a light color. Pair your nude colored pants with neutral and pastel colors. For a high fashion look, wear nude pants with a tan jacket.
Nude is best suited to a summer beach look, but it is also a fantastic option for chunky knitted sweaters. Try layering a V-neck jumper in nude with a navy jacket and burnt orange chinos. For a doubly trendy look, try incorporating two nude pieces into your outfit, such as a nude knitted cardigan over a green jumper, with nude slacks.
Nude is a versatile but delicate color. You have a lot of freedom to spin the color wheel, but there are a few combinations that look terrible. Generally, pastel colors and dark colors look best with nude. For example, nude pants with a mint green knitted sweater is a respectable combination. If you?re aspiring to channel a runway look, pair nude with white or tan. White jeans plus a nude sweater or jacket is a winning combination. Try to avoid anything too bright- bright blue clashes horribly with nude, but navy or a light shade of blue are perfectly acceptable.
Nothing goes with nude as much as a pair of boat shoes. Leather shoes are too harsh a look to be worn with nude. Whether your nude piece is on your top or bottom half, keep it beachy with a pair of boat shoes in nautical colors, preferably worn without socks. It can be difficult to wear bright colors with nude, but you can get away with it if they?re on your feet. A pair of navy or green boat shoes is the perfect companion for your nude pants or top.
Light colored clothing has a habit of attracting all kinds of brightly colored stains. You don?t want someone to be able to tell what you had for lunch by just looking at your shirt. Keep your nude colored pieces in mind condition- there?s no point looking devastatingly trendy if you also look sloppy.
Being such a versatile color, nude looks good with all skin tones, whether you?re darker or paler than the fabric. If you?re lily-white, you may even find that the right shade of nude makes you look like you have a tan. Nude is a trend that suits everyone, so embrace it while it lasts.
