Unlocking Your Subconscious – The Power of Self Hypnosis

Before I get to the meat of this article, I?d like to spend a minute explaining how hypnosis really works. I think that this is important because even in this day and age so many people still see hypnotism as a mystical, and borderline evil power that they should be weary of. This couldn?t be farther from the truth. And the truth is that you simply can?t be hypnotized if you don?t want to. Let me explain…

The human brain is a complex and wonderful machine. The sheer amount of processes that it carries out in a second puts some of the world?s most powerful computers to shame.

For example, let?s say you?re playing a game of baseball and have stepped up to bat. These are the processes that your brain handles and executes within a fraction of a second ? First your eyes see the baseball speeding towards you and sends this signal to the brain which decodes its speed and angle. The brain then decides on the best moment, angle and force with which to hit the baseball.

Next it sends the signal to the muscles in your arms and shoulders to move the bat according to its previous calculations. And it does all this before you can blink an eye. And what?s more impressive is that it does this while handling a thousand other processes like your breathing, heartbeat and posture.

The brain is able to handle such a staggering amount of complex processes because of the separation between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. While we?re unaware of our subconscious mind most of the time, it is still hard at work. For example, your subconscious mind is at work right now helping you filter out the thousands of inputs reaching your brain like the sound of your air-conditioner, the sound of your PC fan and the sound of your fingers typing away at the keyboard.

How hypnosis works is by helping a person enter a state of deep relaxation and heightened attention where the hypnotist is able to shut down the conscious mind and focus on the subconscious. But the reality is that people under the effects of hypnotism aren?t under some kind of unstoppable power of the hypnotist. Rather, they are simply in a state of mind where their subconscious is tapped into and ready to accept suggestions.

And the fact of the matter is that a hypnotist, no matter how good he or she is, cannot make a person do something that they absolutely don?t want to. For example, a hypnotist might be able to suggest to a subject that bunny hopping around the room might be a good idea, but wouldn?t be able to convince the subject to go jump off a cliff.

And the wonderful thing about hypnosis is that you no longer need to spend thousands of dollars to enjoy its benefits. Modern science and an improved understanding of the mechanics of hypnosis have enabled us to achieve the same beneficial effects that a hypnotists can by ourselves in the comfort of our own homes. And this isn?t a very recent discovery either.

Self-hypnosis has been used for centuries by some of the greatest minds to achieve incredible results. For example, it is well known that Albert Einstein used to have hypnosis sessions each afternoon and in fact conceived the theory of relativity during one of these sessions. And it is said that Mozart composed his famous ?Cosi Fan Tutte? while hypnotized.

Also, if you?ve ever watched Tiger Woods play you?ll notice that he too uses techniques taught in self hypnosis. Just before he hits the ball he blinks his eyes twice, a technique to block out distractions and focus his mind on the shot at hand.

By practicing self hypnosis you are able to take control of your subconscious mind and tap into its incredible power. You do this by first using various breathing exercises and meditation techniques to put yourself in a state of deep relaxation and heightened awareness.

You can then use various techniques taught in hypnosis such as visualizations and affirmations to guide your subconscious mind towards desired thoughts and actions. Self hypnosis can be used to for a number of things like quitting smoking or drinking, losing weight, stress management, improving creativity and instilling confidence.

From the seducer?s perspective, the benefits to be gained by mastering the arts of self-hypnosis are incredible. For example, self-hypnosis can help you rid yourself of the anxiety and confidence issues associated with approaching women. By doing this you can actually come to enjoy the process of going out and meeting new women, instead of dreading it each and every time.

Self-hypnosis can also help you model and emulate the qualities of an attractive man on a subconscious and therefore much deeper level. For example, you can use self-hypnosis to instill beliefs in your subconscious mind that you are an incredibly attractive and sexual man, and in turn your subconscious mind would ensure that your thought patterns and behaviors reflect this internalized belief.

But as with all self-help techniques, it is important to approach the practice of self-hypnosis with caution and a critical eye. The mind is as fragile as it is powerful, and playing around with your subconscious mind isn?t something that you should do lightly.
