Warner Bros. Debuts ‘Man of Steel’ Trailer
Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a locomotive. A pretty decent fisherman? Warner Bros. released a teaser trailer for the upcoming Superman reboot ?Man of Steel? over the weekend.
Due for release on June 14, 2013, ?Man of Steel? is a modern take on the Superman story. As evidenced by the moody trailer, the film will present a grittier take on the superhero. All we get from the trailer is a voiceover and scenes of Clark Kent working on a fishing boat. A brief few seconds of Superman flying through the sky close out the trailer.
If this modern take on Superman seems a lot like the modern take of Batman, it?s no wonder why. Christopher Nolan, director of ?Batman Begins,? ?The Dark Knight,? and ?The Dark Knight Rises? is actually producing the film. This retelling of the story was actually discussed with Nolan and writer David S. Goyer 2010 during story discussions for ?The Dark Knight Rises.?
Nolan won?t be directing ?Man of Steel.? That job goes to Zack Snyder, best known for his work with ?Watchmen? and ?300,? two other successful movies based off of comic books.
With superhero movie pros at the helm, ?Man of Steel? just might fill in the hole left behind by Nolan?s Batman trilogy.? Either way, it can?t be as corny as 1980?s ?Superman II.?
