Adam Sandler Up for Multiple Worst in Film Awards
Who ever thought ?Jack & Jill,? the much-maligned Adam Sandler comedy, would be up for so many awards? While Hollywood was abuzz with Academy Awards hype over the weekend, the folks at the RAZZIE Awards were busy announcing nominees for 2011?s worst in film. Unfortunately for Sandler, he?s up for multiple awards.
In an unprecedented wave of Hollywood hate, the RAZZIES nominated Adam Sandler for multiple Worst in Film awards. The comedian accrued 11 nominations for acting, writing and producing work in the critically panned movies ?Jack & Jill,? ?Just Go With It? and ?Bucky Larson.? Sandler actually more than doubled Eddie Murphy?s prior record for most nominations earned by a single actor.
Of Sandler?s three bombs, ?Jack & Jill? takes the cake. The film itself received 12 RAZZIE nominations, including Worst Picture, Worst Actor (Sandler as Jack) Worst Actress (Sandler as Jill), and Worst Supporting Actress (Katie Holmes) to name a few.
The RAZZIES have been trashing Hollywood for decades. Created in 1980, the organization has more than 600 voting members, which consists of average moviegoers, film professionals and entertainment journalists.
Check out the RAZZIES website for a full list of nominees. The organization will announce this year?s ?winners? on April Fool?s Day fittingly. Should Sandler ?win? any of the awards for which he is nominated, there?s a chance he might even accept them in person. Both Halle Berry and Sandra Bullock accepted their awards in-person for their work in ?Catwoman? and ?All About Steve? respectively.? If Sandler does take home multiple awards, perhaps it?s time he shoots ?Happy Gilmore II.?
