Sony Debuts Full Trailer for “The Amazing Spider-Man”
If you liked ?Batman Begins,? how does ?Spiderman Starts? sound? Sony Pictures has released the official trailer for ?The Amazing Spider-Man,? a film that offers a look at the webslinger?s origins from a new perspective.
With its release date less than five months away, Sony Pictures debuted the official trailer for the upcoming Spider-Man reboot at 13 sneak peek screenings around the world on February 6. The trailer went online shortly after.
?The Amazing Spider-Man,? which focuses on Peter Parker developing his superhero abilities in high school, is set for a release date of July 3. The 2:30 minute trailer refers to the film as ?the untold story,? making it clear that this is a reboot, rather than ?Spider-Man 4? (an idea that was scrapped in 2010.)
Director Mark Webbis best known for his work on music videos and the 2009 comedy ?500 Days of Summer.? While this is hardly the resume you?d expect for someone directing a superhero film, the action scenes look pretty intense. His Spider-Man is also a bit scrappier than that played by Tobey Maguire in the original series. When asked by a car thief if he?s a cop, Spider-Man replies ?You seriously think I?m a cop, in a skin-tight red and blue suit??
Check out the trailer and see what you think. Whether you?re a Spidey fanatic or you?d sooner watch another teen vampire film, you?re sure to see more Spider-Man movies in the future. A sequel is already being planned for release in 2014.
