Ricky Gervais Tells Golden Globes to F*** Off
Because you can only point out Hollywood?s horseshit for so long. Comedian Ricky Gervais, whose turn as Golden Globes host has earned him more buzz than the Kardashian family as of late, has decided to call primetime celebrity-skewering a day.
According to a recent post on his blog, the English comedian has decided he won?t be ridiculing A-listers next year (at least not for NBC.)Sunday night was Gervais? third year in a row hosting the event and, if he keeps his word, will be his last.
?Phew! Thank fuck that’s over,? wrote Gervais. ?I had a blast actually. It was by far my favorite of the three hosting stints. I’ve told my agent to never let me be persuaded to do it again though.?
Gervais mentioned that this year?s show was his because the crowd finally got that his jokes were meant to be taken as just that, jokes. What a novel idea.
Despite Gervais? delight in performing this year, it wasn?t enough to persuade him to return. Unless he changes his tune or NBC throws him a wad of money he can?t refuse, we?ll be seeing someone with less balls take the reins next year. Most likely this host won?t drop F-bombs and/or reference Jodie Foster?s ?beaver.? What a shame. There goes whatever reason there was to actually watch the Golden Globes. Oh well, more time for reruns of ?The Office.?
