Fear not hair metal fans. Jon Bon Jovi is still livin? on a prayer. Despite internet rumors of the Jersey boy?s death, your mom?s favorite singer is still alive and kicking.

As reported by the Los Angeles Times, a website called Daily News Blog International posted a story on December 19 stating that Bon Jovi had died. The rumor spread like wildfire, blowing up into a story big enough to earn a spot on Google?s Top Stories.

Fortunately for ?Slippery When Wet? fans worldwide, the rumor turned out to be a hoax. Shrewd blog that it is, the Daily News Blog International story actually copied parts of a Los Angeles Times article announcing Michael Jackson?s death in 2009.

Like any good celebrity, however, Bon Jovi took it all in stride, poking fun at the rumor during a recent concert and going so far as to post a picture of himself holding a sign reading ?Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey? on his Facebook page.

Bon Jovi joins the likes of Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, other stars recently believed to have died and blown up Twitter in the process. If this type of rumor is any indication of a celeb?s popularity, the New Jersey rocker has nothing to worry about.? Those soccer moms are still crazy for ?Runaway.?
