Must-Read: Stay Hydrated
Ask a one-year-old what is the most important thing to do after working out, and even they’ll say you have to stay hydrated. (Or, they’ll just look at you funny because they don’t know what you’re saying and just crap in their diapers.) The point is, everyone knows that drinking plenty of fluids during the day — even if you’re not going through an intense workout but just walking around, living — is extremely important. But sometimes staying hydrated doesn’t mean downing gallons of water or buckets of Gatorade. It simply means eating foods that have water already in them.
Over at Men’s Fitness, they have a list of tips for how to rehydrate if you’re looking for some extra wetness in your body. (That sounded odd. I apologize.) Among the tips are this:
Top Five Water-Packed Foods
- 1 head iceberg lettuce = 18 oz water
- 1 cucumber = 10 oz water
- 1 papaya = 9.5 oz water
- 2 cups watermelon = 9 oz water
- 1 cup canned pumpkin = 8 oz water
Check out the link for the rest of them. And get to hydrating, guys!
