Why I’m Posting A Video Of A Packers Fan Sobbing
I am a Bears fan. I was born on the south side of Chicago (just like Obama!) and, since birth, I was taught an irrational hatred focused on our longtime opponents in the NFC Central (now, NFC North) division the Green Bay Packers. This reflects nothing about their fans, who seem to be admirable both for their love of the game, their ownership of the team, and the fact that they consistently brave cold weather to watch their beloved football team play. The wearing cheese on their heads thing, while a bit nonsensical and strange, is kind of cute and a nice addition to the game. And just the fact that the Packers fans were born and raised in the same Midwest vicinity as us Bears fans means they share a lot of the same morals and attitudes, making them almost like siblings.
Packers players, excluding Mark Chmera of course, have been some of my favorites through the years. I’m not going to dole my love of Brett Favre, other than to say a good majority of the time he was playing on the Packers I wished the Bears had a quarterback of that caliber (instead of someone like, say, anyone on this list). Sterling Sharpe and Donald Driver have been two of my favorite receivers, always trying to snag them on my fantasy teams. I certainly do love the poise of young gunslinger Aaron Rodgers. There’s not much you could say about Vince Lombardi other than he was a total badass, with or without his iconic hat, but especially with.
What I’m saying is, there is no rational reason why watching the following video gave me a giddy sensation and put an extra hop in my step, other than being indoctrinated to hate at a very young age. (Just like terrorists!) Although there is a possibility that it’s simply because I’m an asshole.
In any case:
