Let’s Take A Closer Look At The Conan Set
A few weeks back, Conan O’Brien premiered his new Leno-less (read: actually funny) version of The Tonight Show to the masses. As you’d imagine, Conan’s move from New York to Los Angeles brought its fair share of changes to the show.
Gone is the famous Masturbating Bear character (they have to clean up the show for the early-to-bed viewers of the 11:35pm time slot), back in is old sidekick Andy Richter. Delegated to the bench are references to Times Square and ousted-because-of-sexual-hijinks Eliot Spitzer, promoted to the starting lineup are references to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and yet-to-be-ousted-because-of-sexual-hijinks mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Another change made to the show is a brand-new set:
If that set look familiar, all it means is you’re part of the Nintendo generation. That’s right, the set is an artistic montage of images from the Mushroom Kingdom of the Mario Brothers games. See:

Nintendo has reportedly given a thumbs up to the design and, despite living in this age of litigation, has decided not to press any charges against the show, saying they think it’s “great”. Hooray!
Something like this just makes the whole world better.
