Carlos Zambrano: A Man And His Tantrum
?In the great sport of baseball, there is nothing better than watching a grown man throw a temper tantrum. For whatever reason, no matter how angry players get at officials in basketball, or referees in football, or each other in hockey, nothing matches the utter hilarity and willingness of men in their 20s and 30s to resort to whining and crying like little babies in front of thousands of fans quite like the game of baseball. Take the following video, for instance.
?It’s from yesterday’s game between the Cubs and Pirates, following a crucial call in which the umpire awarding a Pirates player with a run. The Cubs pitcher Carlos Zambrano, meanwhile, felt the umpire made an error in his judgment and that, in fact, he had made the tag before the Pirates player crossed the plate. As you’d imagine, Mr. Zambrano presented his case with the utmost respect for the authority of the man behind the plate. Just kidding. He went fucking nuts.
?Any descriptions I can make of the event – which include tossing the ball towards the stands and killing a Gatorade cooler – don’t do it justice. Instead, you’ll have to head over to the MLB site? and watch the video. Trust me. It’s worth it.
