Air Guitar Championships: Bowery Ballroom May 28th

I remember seeing a documentary on TV called the Air Guitar Championships and being completely drawn to the hilarity and seriousness of the event. Ever since seeing that show I have wanted to attend one of these events but I just never knew when they were around. That all changed today!

On May 28th at the Bowery Ballroom myself and PetetheFreshman will be there live covering the event for TSB! If you are in the area you should come by and hang out with us, we always have a good time when we go out =)

In 1998, bored with a world-peace movement that had lost inspiration and spirit, a few students in Finland came together to create something that finally would bring people together in harmony and sense of purpose. One part free, one part egalitarian, one part inclusive, and many parts rock and roll, it was decided that the Air Guitar was truly the most universal and democratic art form. Furthermore, sewn into the Air Guitar ideology was the reasoning that if one is holding an air guitar, one cannot, at the same time, be holding a gun. Thus, the Air Guitar World Championships were born. Here, competitors were not bound by physical boundaries, i.e. the fussy business of instruments and the like. They were free to celebrate world peace, and the gods of rock, as they so pleased.
