It’s Time to Be the Hero in Your Own Movie
You’ve probably heard the saying:
All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players.
Well, since hardly anyone cares about plays anymore lets rephrase that quote in a way you can really wrap your mind around its meaning. Let’s think of your life as a movie. And you’re an actor in the movie. And everyone around you is your co-stars.
There is a basic script that you’ve been following up until this day. The thing with this script is that there is no dictator-like director telling you what you’re next scene will be. In fact, the director has basically handed you the screenplay and told you that you can write the movie any which way you please.
And the best part is; if you start writing the script one way… and you don’t like how it’s going, you can crumble it up and throw it in the fire. And start again.
You can make this movie as big and spectacular as you like. Or you can make it a long, boring, and painful tear jerker.
You can fill the movie with beautiful co-stars, exotic scenery, and grand adventure… or the entire movie can take place in a dingy basement filled with hacks and has-beens.
You can make yourself the gallant and heroic leading man… or you can merely be a bit player confined to a few pointless and forgettable cameos.
Not only that… but the director has handed you control over every single aspect of the movie. You record the soundtrack, adjust the lighting, create the budget, design your wardrobe, and cast the leading lady.
Don’t underestimate the power of scenery, music, and lighting on the quality of the movie. Have you ever watched a badly lit movie with a horrible soundtrack? Depressing as hell!
Take the time to adjust these things to your liking. Experiment with the subtle elements of your life. Make sure that the scenes you are in are always well lit, with a great a soundtrack blasting in the background.
And for god sakes vary these things up. Nobody wants to hear the same song playing the entire length of the film. And the best films, the films you really remember, tend to span the globe. They take you on a long journey where you never quite know where you’re going to wind up.
If you’re going to live like the star of a kick-ass movie you have to pay attention to the details.? (Read more)
