More on The Mystery Method’s VH1 Show “The Pickup Artist”
I am getting tons of emails from guys worrying about how their routines are still going to work once Mystery’s show “The Pick Up Artist” airs on VH1. I’ve thought a great deal about this and here are some of my thoughts…
If you’re still using “the jealous girlfriend opener,” “best friends test” “c vs. u shaped smiles” and all the played out routines like those you will probably be in trouble. In fact, if you are using any canned routines you are in trouble. But whether or not this show came out using canned material was a dying art anyway.
Using these pre made routines is not the point of becoming a PUA anyway. I learned that long ago. Sure, using canned routines and openers is needed in the beginning. Kind of like needing training wheels when learning to ride a bike. But once you get going, you need to take the training wheels off. Cuz, you can’t do the really good tricks with training wheels holding you down. I NEVER use any of these openers or routines anymore. I live the image. I am Bobby Rio. When I go out I keep that thought in my mind. When I meet a girl I AM Bobby Rio. I am not some guy who’s pretending to be good with women memorizing lines and calculating what to say next. I know what to say next… improvising as I go along. Just like when you’re riding a bike now, you don’t think about it anymore, which allows you go go faster and smoother.
So… my feeling is if you are just starting out and you need to use the canned material books like Magic Bullets provide… go for it. There isn’t a huge chance the girl will have seen the show, let alone remembered exact lines. Using this stuff is still an ecellent way to get your feet wet. But when you read a book like Magic Bullets you need to concentrate on learning the theory behind why these routines work. And gradually make this a natural part of your conversations with women.
Anyway… Here is another clip of Mystery in the media…
