How to learn from ANY Challenge And Ensure Future Success
(“The Lessons Learned”)
One of the best ways I’ve found to improve my skills, change attitudes and
beliefs is “The Lessons Learned” process. It’s applicable to any area of your
life you want to improve, and not just your seduction skills.
Why? Because it forces you to become aware of your behavior; it forces you to
learn from your experience; and perhaps most importantly, it forces you to take
action.
Write your answers on a piece of paper. make sure you can spend 10-15 minutes
alone. After you’re done with this process, shred it.
1) What happened
Describe the experience in detail.
(here you watch your own thoughts, feelings and beliefs)
Ask yourself: “On a scale 0-10 how do I feel about the event?” Let’s
say 1 is “my coffee/tee is really bad” and 10 is ” a really bad car
accident, all banged up in an ambulance” Or make up your own scale.
Be honest here because this is the way to *KNOW* how well this(Or any
other)process or technique will work for you.
You say on the inside:
1) My thoughts are___________
2) I feel____________________
Then follow up with:
In order to THINK and FEEL that way, what would I have to believe?
*This is how you fish out your belief(s).*
Don’t stop at just one or two beliefs here.
Ask: If I feel and think this way, what ELSE would I have to believe?
(There is always more than ONE belief)
2) What did I do?
Describe it in detail your actions.
(Here you examine you actions THOROUGHLY. Watch out for your ego
jumping in and ‘polishing’ the story)
Then what you thought and felt about your actions:
1) My thoughts are___________
2) I feel____________________
Then follow up with:
In order to THINK and FEEL that way, what would I have to believe?
This is how you fish out your belief(s).
Don’t stop at just one or two beliefs here.
Ask: If I feel and think this way, what ELSE would I have to believe?
Write it down.
3) What I Will Do In The Future
Thoroughly describe HOW you’ll act in the future when a similar
situation happens.
BECAUSE _______________(Fill in the beliefs and feelings you choose
to have)
Then — and this is what makes this 10X stronger– you go back to
the event/situation you had a challenge with and relive it in your
mind *The Way You Would Have Acted If You Had Had a chance to learn
more before the even happened*. (You act it out in your mind the way
you wish it had happened). Do it at least 10 times with all the
feelings you can muster.
Let it go for 3 days and then come back to it and check how you feel
about the event and what you’ve learned about it.
Let’s pretend it’s been 3 days since you did this…
On a scale 0-10 how do you feel about the event? Be honest here. The
goal here is to get the event down to 1 or 0. It can and it will go down
to 1 in, at most, 3 sessions.
Then ask yourself: “What have I learned from this event?”
If you’re like most people who can do this in the privacy of their
own home, you’ll have learned a lot.
So in closing, let me say that Meditation(self-
awareness/mindfulness) without ACTION is meaningless. But it’s an
EXCELLENT starting point.
