The 5 Best and Worst Quarterbacks Right Now
Okay, that was the bottom of the barrel, how about the cream of the crop? Well, these guys are having good, even great years, but its still a lame year for signal callers overall considering the fireworks weve seen in recent years. Still, these guys are getting the job done.
5) Kyle Orton ? Orton just barely makes this list as he managed to get himself injured with a high ankle sprain in the first half of last weekends game, but hes in there with Pro Bowl caliber play and flashes of brilliance (I also debated between him and Philip Rivers, but the Bears are winning so he gets the nod). Orton has thrown 10 TDs against 4 picks and boasts a 90 QB rating. Not bad for a Bears quarterback, which is traditionally crappy at the position.
4) Donovan McNabb ? McNabb is having a pretty solid year by all accounts and its been helpful that hes completely healthy for the first time in years. The Eagles are 5-3, McNabb has a 92 passer rating, and hes passed for 2178 yards, third best in the NFL.
3) Drew Brees – The Saints are up-and-down at 4-4, which is last in a tough division, but its no fault of their quarterback. Brees has tossed 15 TDs, seven picks, and has been sacked only seven times this year. If he keeps up his good play and the Saints can make a playoff run, hell be in the MVP conversation.
2) Kurt Warner ? Freakin Kurt Warner found the fountain of youth and hes making a serious run at his third League MVP award. This guy has stayed off the injury list and started every game this season, completing a ridiculous 70% of his passes, and features an asskicking 104.2 QB rating. Not only that, but the Cardinals are running away with their division and look like a lock for the playoffs.
1) Eli Manning ? Eli doesnt have the flashiest numbers on the list (12 TDS, 5 INTS, 89.7 QB rating), but the Superbowl champ has kept up his elite play from last year and led the Giants to an 7-1 record, tops in the NFC.
Honorable mentions: Jake Delhomme, Philip Rivers, Tony Romo.
Thats the best and the worst, any additions or subtractions feel free to leave in comments.
